- There are about 19 million new STD cases each year; nearly half affect 15-24 year olds
- about 1 in 5 have herpes
- about 1 in 4 have Human Papilloma Virus (HPV)
- Some STDs can be treated, but others have no cure
The choices you make right now can have a huge impact on your life
Be informed – take good care of yourself and your sexual health!
Some facts:
- You can still get an STD even if you aren’t “having sex.”
- You can get some STDs from skin-to-skin contact, even while using a condom.
- Many people don’t realize they have an STD because they don’t have “symptoms.”
If you are sexually active, we recommend that you get tested for STDs. Remember, “sexually-active” means ANY sexual activity, not just intercourse. Please don’t wait. This is your health and YOUR LIFE!
